About SAFE ARCTIC BY DAMGAARD
SAFE ARCTIC BY DAMGAARD
The company is led by Jes Damgaard Andersen, who has over 37 years of experience in emergency services – both in municipal and state sectors.
The past 18 years have been at the executive level. His experience is broad and includes:
- Fire safety engineering in building projects,
- Incident commander roles during acute events,
- Development of new training programs for emergency services,
- Production of learning and educational materials,
- Teaching and competency development,
- Personel management of both operational and administrative teams.
For the past 14 years, I have worked with emergency services across the Kingdom of Denmark. From 2023 to 2025, I served as Chief of Emergency Management in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq – Greenland's largest municipality, which includes the capital Nuuk. Here, I gained in-depth experience with the unique challenges associated with planning and operating emergency services in the Arctic. As part of this role, I was a permanent member of:
- GBS – Greenlandic Emergency Management Staff,
- OKA – Operational Coordination in the Arctic
I have collaborated extensively with emergency services and organizations in Europe, North America, and other Arctic countries, as well as with research communities at universities in both Greenland and Denmark. This combination of practical experience and international networks forms the foundation for SAFE ARCTIC BY DAMGAARD's consultancy services.
