The Ministry of Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness, in close cooperation with the responsible sectors, is responsible for preventing, resisting and dealing with major accidents, crises, disasters and other incidents that challenge the basic functions of society.
Ministry of the Environment and Equality
The ministry works together to protect nature and the environment, and works for a green transition of society. In addition, work is done to promote equality between women and men and LGBT+ people, so that everyone has truly equal rights and opportunities to unfold and participate in society. The tasks are carried out by the Ministry, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency and the Danish Coastal Authority.
The Danish Social and Housing Agency is a development, consultancy and implementation company for the entire social service area.
The Danish Social and Housing Authority also handles a number of tasks in the housing and construction area, which contributes to a well-functioning housing market and safe, efficient and sustainable construction.
The Danish Transport Agency is an agency under the Ministry of Transport.
The agency works with mobility, traffic safety and green transport in the air, on the railways and in other parts of public transport.
Furthermore, the Agency also performs tasks in the postal, EIA and port areas and in connection with the processing of complaints in the area of the Ministry of Transport.
The agency's portfolio of tasks is therefore wide-ranging and has direct and indirect contact with many transport companies and their employees as well as the individual passenger in Denmark - whether it is in public transport or by plane.
The Danish Agency for Civil Protection, provides advice and communication to authorities, companies and citizens on the prevention and management of the threats facing society, e.g. cyber and information security. We also handle contingency planning and tasks relating to the coordination of national crisis management.
The Danish Emergency Management Agency handles major accidents, crises, disasters and other incidents that challenge the basic functions of society. This includes that the Danish Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the state rescue preparedness and supervises, advises and assists the municipal emergency services.
In addition, the Danish Emergency Management Agency is responsible for a number of operational capacities and tasks relating to emergency communication. The agency also handles tasks relating to safety and emergency preparedness at sea.
The Arctic Command's primary tasks in and around Greenland and the Faroe Islands are maritime surveillance and assertion of sovereignty.
In addition, AKO solves a number of tasks such as fisheries inspection, support for scientific expeditions, ammunition clearance and patrols with inspection ships and vessels.
In Greenland, AKO also handles tasks such as search and rescue services, maritime surveying, environmental monitoring and pollution control.
Departementet for Nature and Environment
In the area of emergency preparedness, the Environment and Emergency Preparedness office handles areas that deal with the safety of citizens and society's response to accidents and disasters. The department also handles the secretariat function for the Emergency Management Commission
The Greenland Police, as a national authority, is organisationally placed under the Ministry of Justice. Overall, the police district is headed by the police director, who is physically located in the capital, Nuuk, together with the police's central administration. The central administration is divided into three pillars: the Prosecutor's Office, the Staff Pillar and the Police Pillar. From here, the police in the individual police regions, the prosecution service, the police officers, the finances, the staff, the police academy and IT tasks are administered.

The Department is responsible for the overall administration, planning and management of the following areas: Housing, central developer role, building authority and infrastructure, cf. below.
The department consists of the Construction Department, the Infrastructure Department and the Management Secretariat
